SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy SDG 13 Climate Action

Air conditioners typically account for the largest share of household electricity consumption during the summer. Therefore, improving air-conditioning efficiency is one of the most direct ways to reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions.

Energy efficiency not only helps reduce operating costs but also plays an important role in lowering greenhouse gas emissions. Nuvoton has implemented various energy-saving measures, with the following achievements in 2025:

  • System supply load optimization: Optimize the high-vacuum operation mode of air compressors, saving 51 MWh/year
  • Prioritize energy-saving equipment when replacing old equipment: Saving 316 MWh/year
  • Introduce AI control into the chilled water system: Saving 730 MWh/year
  • Replace electric boilers with natural gas boilers: Saving 220 MWh/year

Nuvoton continues to improve energy efficiency through effective energy management and energy-saving initiatives. For more information, please visit Energy Management.

The chip is one of the key factors affecting power consumption in electronic products. Lower chip power consumption helps extend battery life and reduce energy consumption throughout a product's life cycle.

Nuvoton continues to develop low-power products that help customers achieve energy-saving goals. The low-power, high-performance NuMicro® M2L31 series microcontroller incorporates multiple power-saving modes in chip design. Compared to the previous generation NuMicro® M253 series, the M2L31 has achieved a substantial reduction in unit operating power consumption from 130 μA/MHz to 60 μA/MHz, achieving an energy efficiency enhancement of 54%. The maximum operating frequency has been upgraded to 72 MHz.

Nuvoton continues to develop high-performance, low-power products and improve energy efficiency through technological innovation. For more information, please visit Green Manufacturing.
