"Earth Hour", the world’s largest voluntary climate action campaign aimed at reducing carbon emissions. | News
Nuvoton recognizes the importance of addressing global climate change and is committed to aligning with regulatory policies and fulfilling its commitments to stakeholders. In March 2025, the company participated in "Earth Hour", the world’s largest voluntary climate action campaign aimed at reducing carbon emissions.
"Earth Hour" has received support from 192 countries and regions, making it one of the most influential environmental initiatives worldwide. Nuvoton’s Zhubei and Tainan offices took part in the event on March 22, while the HQ located in Hsinchu Science Park joined the global campaign on March 29. From 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., the entire buildings at the Zhubei and Tainan offices turned off all lights. At the Hsinchu manufacturing site, non-essential lighting—including corporate lobby decorations, canopy lights, rooftop signage, and various other ambient lighting fixtures—was also turned off, demonstrating tangible action in support of carbon reduction and sustainability.
At Nuvoton, we are committed not only to technological innovation in the green semiconductor industry but also to the well-being of humanity and the planet. Through participation in the global Earth Hour initiative, we seek to raise awareness among employees and the public about energy consumption and carbon emissions, enhance sustainability literacy, and contribute to a better future for the next generation.
