Nuvoton Advances Agricultural Education and Sustainable Living | News
Spring fields are full of vitality and renewal. On March 7, 2026, Nuvoton Technology invited employees and their families to visit "Feng He Fields" in Zhubei City, Hsinchu County, for the "Feng He Fields Sustainable Living and Low-Carbon Diet Education – Nuvoton Field Academy: Rice Transplanting Edition." Participants engaged in hands-on rice planting, experiencing the land firsthand while learning about low-carbon diets and sustainable practices.
Understanding the Life Cycle of Rice: Learning Sustainability Through Field Experience
Organized in collaboration with the Taiwan Feng He Zi Association, the event guided employees and their families to explore the life cycle of rice in an interactive and engaging way. From seed soaking, germination, and seedling cultivation to transplanting, growth, heading, and harvesting, each stage relies on stable water resources. Through explanations and hands-on activities, participants gained insight into the critical role of farmland in ecological conservation, soil and water preservation, and food production. They also learned how businesses and local organizations collaborate to promote agricultural education, integrating sustainability principles into daily life and environmental stewardship.
Hands-On Rice Transplanting: Appreciating Land and Water, Practicing Community Well-Being
For many children, this was their first experience transplanting rice seedlings by hand. Through teamwork, they completed row after row of seedlings, experiencing firsthand the labor of farmers and the vitality of the land. Instructors also introduced the Toucian River Basin in Hsinchu, highlighting the essential role of water resources for agriculture, industry, and local communities.
Simultaneously, Nuvoton collaborated with local partners to foster exchanges between agriculture, community, and technology culture. Through these activities, employees and community members practiced the concept of community well-being, strengthening engagement and raising environmental awareness.
Integrating Sustainability into Daily Life
Beyond farming activities, the event included rice-based snack sharing and interactive Q&A sessions, connecting topics on rice ecology and water resources. Through this Field Academy experience, Nuvoton Technology not only brought employees closer to nature but also fostered environmental awareness and responsible stewardship of land, water, and natural resources. Moving forward, Nuvoton will continue to promote diverse ESG initiatives, engaging employees and communities to build a resilient and sustainable future.
