Partnering with National Tsing Hua University to Advance Sustainable Urban-Rural Development

Nuvoton Technology received an invitation from National Tsing Hua University, with Vice President Kuang-Lun Lin taking on the role as moderator for the "Community Building and Local Revitalization" session at the inaugural "Hsinchu Science Park ESG Forum."

This forum brought together sustainability executives from three technology companies, the implementation team of NTHU's USR project, and over twenty local resident organizations in Hsinchu. Participants engaged in in-depth discussions on how to leverage each party's unique strengths to create unprecedented synergies. Through comprehensive integration and connection of three core resources - corporate ESG sustainability principles, university USR social responsibility programs, and Hsinchu's local characteristics - the forum aimed to enhance the well-being of residents in the Greater Hsinchu area.

Caring for Neighborhoods, Strengthening Community Inclusion

Nuvoton is committed to supporting the development of nearby communities, regularly visiting local borough chiefs near our operational sites to proactively understand their needs, and dispatching corporate volunteers for environmental maintenance. We had participated multiple times in water resource protection activities such as river and beach cleaning in Hsinchu, and has also conducted endangered species conservation projects in Hsinchu's Wufeng Township. By the end of 2024, Nuvoton will launch an industry-academia collaboration with National Tsing Hua University, focusing on surrounding communities including Xiengong and Gaofeng village in Hsinchu City, and Donghai village in Zhubei City. Connect local social enterprises with community associations, gather civic forces from the bottom up, and promote sustainable communities/homeland. During the forum's discussion session, participating experts engaged in in-depth dialogues on several key community issues, including how to effectively support young people returning home to start businesses, preserve cultural heritages, promote eco-friendly agriculture, and care for active aging groups. Nuvoton Technology specifically shared its long-term interaction with Kind children 's Home of Hsinchu.

Not only invested substantial resources for five consecutive years to comprehensively support the children's healthcare, accommodation improvements, and educational expenses but has also innovatively invited the children to participate in Nuvoton's annual family day. This creates opportunities for warm interactions, enabling natural exchange between groups of different ages and backgrounds, and has enhanced employees' humanitarian awareness.

Nuvoton Technology will continue enhancing community engagement, protecting natural environments, preserving biodiversity, and promoting urban-rural development, while fostering local business growth to create a co-prosperity circle in Greater Hsinchu.
