2026-02-03 Governance

Nuvoton Technology has successfully obtained A-Level certification under the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS), joining the ranks of the 137 enterprises nationwide that have achieved this level of certification. The Company attended the certification ceremony hosted by the Industrial Development Administration, Ministry of Economic Affairs on February 3, 2026, demonstrating concrete achievements in integrating intellectual property (IP) management into its corporate governance and sustainable development framework.

As a leading global provider of microcontroller and smart application solutions, Nuvoton Technology has long focused on key application fields including automotive electronics, industrial control, and the Internet of Things (IoT). The Company regards a comprehensive intellectual property management system as a critical foundation supporting technological innovation and strategic product deployment.

Since 2005, the Industrial Development Administration of the Ministry of Economic Affairs has promoted the TIPS program to assist enterprises in strengthening their capabilities in intellectual property planning, protection, and utilization. Through a fair and impartial third-party verification mechanism, the program evaluates the completeness and implementation of corporate IP management systems. TIPS certification is conducted by senior experts with professional backgrounds through document reviews and on-site audits. Enterprises that pass A-Level or above certification are awarded an official TIPS registration certificate issued by the Industrial Development Administration, recognizing their excellence in intellectual property governance.

Nuvoton Technology systematically advances the management of patents, trademarks, and trade secrets, while actively engaging in industry exchanges and collaborations to share practical IP management experience. The Company also closely monitors the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and big data on IP strategy and risk management, thereby strengthening the protection of R&D outcomes and enhancing overall competitiveness to achieve sustainable value growth in the semiconductor industry.

Within its ESG and corporate governance framework, Nuvoton Technology promotes intellectual property governance through institutionalized practices. By establishing clear internal control systems, cross-departmental collaboration mechanisms, and risk identification processes, the Company closely integrates IP management with corporate strategy, R&D investment, and regulatory compliance as a core component of its governance structure. Supported by the implementation of the TIPS framework, these practices not only enhance operational risk management but also improve transparency and stakeholder trust, addressing the core governance requirements under the ESG framework.
